On November 18, 2014, sales of a new version of the popular Russian car “Priora” started. The car, which is planned to be assembled in small batches, received a more powerful engine with a displacement of 1.8 liters, will be available in all three body versions, but only in one configuration.

Outwardly, "Priora 1.8" is no different from its brothers in the line, so you won't be able to recognize the novelty by any design decisions in the general stream.

Lada Priora 1.8 will be produced both in the sedan body and in the hatchback and station wagon bodies. The same is with the interior, which is completely identical to modifications with a 1.6-liter engine. Specifications. Under the hood of Lada Priora 1.8 there will be an engine, most of the components of which are supplied by imported, mainly European manufacturers. The engine received 4 in-line cylinders with a total working volume of, of course - 1.8 liters, while the increase in volume was achieved not due to block boring, but due to the use of a "long-stroke" connecting rod-piston group in a serial engine, which significantly reduces the production cost ... In addition, the engine is equipped with a 16-valve DOHC timing belt and a distributed fuel injection system with Siemens injectors.
From the point of view of environmental friendliness, the engine fits into the framework of the Euro-4 standard, but the main thing is, of course, its power.
The maximum output of the 1.8-liter Lada Priora engine is 123 hp, while in the course of further tuning (for example, replacing the intake manifold), its growth is allowed up to 135 hp. As for the torque, the 145 Nm characteristic of the "civilian" motor, the novelty produces already at 2400 rpm, and the peak 165 Nm develops at 3500 - 4000 rpm.

As a gearbox, the 1.8-liter engine will receive a reinforced 5-speed "mechanics" with a cable drive, a LUK clutch and a gear ratio of the main pair of 3.7. The projected fuel consumption in the combined cycle is declared by the manufacturer at 7.2 liters per 100 km. The dynamics of acceleration of Lada Priora with a 1.8-liter engine is much more pleasing - from 0 to 100 km / h the novelty will be able to accelerate in 10.0 seconds, which is 1.5 seconds faster than the “civilian” version with a 1.6-liter engine.

Naturally, this one is built on absolutely the same platform as the version with a 1.6-liter engine. The front suspension of the "novelty" is independent with MacPherson struts, and at the rear a dependent structure is used. The front wheels have ventilated disc brakes, the rear wheels are equipped with simple drum mechanisms. The rack and pinion steering mechanism is complemented by an electromechanical amplifier.

Complete set and prices. Lada Priora 1.8 is available only in two trim levels: "Norma" (including: driver's airbag, on-board computer, power windows for front doors, heated and electric side mirrors, air conditioning and audio preparation) or "Lux" (supplemented with: ABS, passenger airbag, fog lights, daytime running lights, power windows for the rear doors, alloy 14 ″ wheels, parking sensors, rain and light sensors, a multimedia system, cruise control and other pleasant things). In the spring of 2015, the Lada Priora 1.8 "Norm" is offered at a price of 482,700 rubles for the sedan version, 490,700 rubles for the hatchback and 494,300 rubles for the station wagon. Equipment option "Lux", regardless of the body, is 57,300 rubles more expensive.
