Renault Talisman Estate is a front-wheel drive mid-size station wagon (that is, a representative of the "D" class by European standards), combining elegant design, a high level of practicality and modern "stuffing" ... It is addressed primarily to family people with a good level of income, who do not want to sacrifice "versatility for the sake of design" ...

As part of the Frankfurt Automobile Shows in September 2015, Renault organized the public debut of the Talisman mid-size station wagon, which was named the Estate prefix. The chances of the car appearing on the Russian market are "zero", but in Europe its sales started in the spring of 2016 (a few months later than the sedan) ...

In the last days of February 2020, a restyled "barn" was declassified on the Web, which slightly changed externally, improved more significantly inside, and also acquired new modern equipment. As for the technology, the power range of the five-door was revised back in 2018, and this time they did not touch it.

Externally, the Renault Talisman station wagon is designed in a similar vein to the namesake sedan - a beautiful, solid and elegant design, the "highlight" of which is the original lighting technology with LED "stuffing". Despite the characteristic rear end, the station wagon looks muscular and dynamic, and all due to the embossed "hips" and sloping contours of the roof.

In terms of its overall dimensions, the cargo-passenger model is similar to the three-volume model: 4860 mm in length, 1460 mm in height and 1870 mm in width. The front and rear axles are spaced 2810 mm apart.

Interior

In the front part, the decoration of the Estate-version of the "Talisman" is similar to that of the sedan: a modern "dashboard" of instruments, a "dense" multifunctional steering wheel, a spectacular center console with an 8.7-inch "tablet" and several buttons, as well as comfortable seats with pronounced support on the sides ... But the rear riders are more advantageous in the wagon due to the flatter roof.

The luggage compartment of the Renault Talisman Estate is really roomy - its length in the "stowed" state is 1116 mm, and the useful volume is 572 liters. With the backs of the "gallery" folded down, these values increase to 2010 mm and 1700 liters, respectively.

Specifications

Full parity for the cargo-passenger "Talisman" with the sedan in terms of engines and transmissions:

  • The petrol part is a TCe turbo four with a working volume of 1.3-1.8 liters with direct injection, which develop 160-225 horsepower and 270-300 Nm of torque. They are combined exclusively with a 7-band "robot".
  • The range of diesel units includes 1.7-2.0 liter dCi engines with turbocharging and battery "power", producing 120-200 hp. and 300-400 Nm of peak thrust. In tandem with a 1.7-liter diesel engine, only a six-speed "mechanic" works, and with a 2.0-liter one - a 6-speed "robot".

From a technical point of view, the car is identical to a related sedan: a modular CMF "bogie", independent suspension based on McPherson struts in front and a semi-independent beam at the rear, electric power steering and disc brakes "in a circle". For a surcharge for the "Frenchman" available full-control chassis 4Control, electronically controlled shock absorbers and the Multi-Sense system.

Options and prices

The restyled Renault Talisman Estate will reach European countries in June 2020, while the "pre-reform" model is sold in France at a price of 33,700 euros (≈2.5 million rubles).

In terms of equipment, the station wagon completely echoes the sedan.
